BT’s innovative approach to flexible working has won the organisation the accolade of UK Employer of the Year 2001. The Employment Service was also named Large Public Sector Employer of the Year, while Norfolk manufacturer Listawood Ltd won the Medium Employer category. Bridgewater-based charity BIBIC (British Institute for Brain Injured Children) and Chesterfield manufacturer MTM Products jointly won the title of Small Employer of the Year.

The PARENTS AT WORK/Lloyds TSB Employer of the Year Awards, supported by the DTI, celebrate employers who actively encourage their employees to balance their work and home lives more effectively. This year, the winners of 11 national and regional competitions joined UK-wide finalists in competing for the prestigious awards.

The Awards were presented by Alan Johnson MP, Minister of State for Employment Relations and the Regions at a Gala Lunch in London on Wednesday, 28 November.
