Mobile phones could threaten our children's health

Home
Following an alarming report issued recently by leading scientists, UK government ministers are calling for urgent new guidelines to restrict how and when mobile phones are used by children.

While there is no tangible evidence as yet to suggest mobiles are more harmful to youngsters than adults, speculation is rife that their thinner skull bones offer considerably less protection against microwave radiation emissions. This could make children much more vulnerable to negative side effects - the impacts of which are not yet fully understood for adults. More research is due to take place, but it is highly likely that minimum age limits will apply at some point in the future, and that children will be advised to curtail the limit and length of the daily calls they make and receive. Bad news for the mobile phone companies for whom the youth market represents an estimated 25% of all UK sales. But potentially even worse news for the families of the children who's health could have already been irrevocably affected.
